Basketball Recap: Elkhorn South Comes Up Short

Elkhorn South extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They had to suffer through a 69-39 loss at the hands of the Creighton Prep Junior Jays. If the Storm were looking for revenge after losing 61-42 to the Junior Jays when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Wolf, who posted eight points. Wolf also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joe Fichter, who had seven points.

As for Creighton Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creighton Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Knight, who went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Jungers, who scored 12 points and three steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will be home for the holidays to greet Papillion-LaVista South at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Storm their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Creighton Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bellevue East at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
