Volleyball Recap: Grace Davis Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Waterford on Monday, Grace Davis came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downey Knights on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-11, 25-13.

Morgan Lee paced Grace Davis' offense, picking up five kills. Lee were helped by Janiya Thompson and Alyssa Vasquez, who contributed seven assists each. Lee also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Chloe Lau, racking up three apiece.

Downey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sofia Rosemire out in front who had seven digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Rosemire a new career-high in assists (four). Norah Niskanen was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

Grace Davis now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Downey, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Grace Davis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against River Islands on the 2nd. As for Downey, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Tracy on the 27th.
