Volleyball Game Preview: New Castle Trojans vs. Shelbyville Golden Bears

The New Castle Trojans will square off against the Shelbyville Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, New Castle beat Non Varsity Opponent 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: New Castle took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Shelbyville came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Irvington Preparatory Academy 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Shelbyville who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 16-25, 25-13, 17-25, 15-10.

New Castle's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Shelbyville, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
