The New Hartford Spartans will square off against the Chittenango Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
New Hartford lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Whitesboro, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Spartans blew past the Warriors 9-1 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three games in a row.

Ruby Gehringer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alessandra D'Apice, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Addie Way was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
New Hartford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Chittenango can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Christian Brothers Academy.
Like New Hartford, Chittenango also got a great game from a two-way player: Lauren Machan. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Machan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Alivia Cavotta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Maggie Bielicki, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
New Hartford pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Chittenango, their record now sits at 14-5.
New Hartford was able to grind out a solid victory over Chittenango when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
