Recap: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Lake Minneola Hawks
The Lake Brantley Patriots came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 46-40 victory over Lake Minneola. This was payback for Lake Brantley, who suffered a 48-38 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lake Brantley was led to victory by Princeton Gordon and Landen Paquette. Gordon scored 15 points, while Paquette scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Paquette is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aidan Haluszka, who scored six points.
When it comes to explaining why Lake Minneola lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Blackwell. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Blackwell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Brandon Colbert was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Lake Brantley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Lake Minneola, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
