Baseball Game Preview: Crook County Cowboys vs. Estacada Rangers

The Crook County Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Estacada Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Crook County will be strutting in after a win while Estacada will be coming in after a defeat.

Crook County took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Molalla. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Estacada came up short against Gladstone on Thursday and fell 6-3. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Estacada saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Olson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Paul Ables was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Crook County pushed their record up to 7-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Estacada, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1.

Crook County suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Estacada when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Cowboys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
