Volleyball Recap: Edgemont Comes Up Short

If Edgemont was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Newell on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Moguls fell just short of the Crawford Rams by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Moguls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Edgemont sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 26-28, 25-13, 17-25, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Edgemont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaylee Mergen had 15 digs and 13 assists. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Mergen.

Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Crawford, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Coincidentally, Edgemont and Crawford will both be playing Cody-Kilgore the next time they take the court. The Rams will host the Cowboys/Cowgirls on Thursday, while the Moguls will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
