Adding to the longest winning streak in Majestic (8 Man) this week, Desert Chapel beat Desert Christian Academy 57-18. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.
Palm Valley fell to Noli Indian 50-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sam Struthers was a bright spot for the FIREBIRDS, as he threw for 94 yards in the defeat.
Cornerstone Christian's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Pierre Gray threw for 120 yards and Dylan Allums had 113 yards receiving. On the ground Gray chipped in 124 yards.
The Crusaders' dynamic duo of Gray and Allums proved tough for San Pasqual Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Calvary Baptist's Mark Garcia-Salas and Taylor Dial have proven to be a lethal combination. Garcia-Salas has thrown for 576 yards this season, while Dial, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 26 catches for 470 yards. Crossroads Christian's Nathan Ostrowski leads the league in rushing yards with 460.
The Cougars are in third place, while Crossroads Christian is in second place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cornerstone Christian takes on Desert Chapel. Skip Chmidling's team has allowed 146 points this season, while Jim Donaldson's team has given up 40. The Crusaders allowed 54 points last week as they lost to the Dragons.
The Eagles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 41 from 129. The improvement was largely due to a 57-18 victory over the Conquerors last week.
