After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whitefield Academy, Mount Vernon was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Business Engineering Science Tech Eagles 57-20 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 30 point advantage.
Bristan Derocher was a one-man wrecking crew for Mount Vernon as he rushed for 167 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Walker Warshaw, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Mount Vernon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Business Engineering Science Tech only rushed for 11.
