Two dominant signal callers in Aaron Frye and Jamison Roberts are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clay-Chalkville Cougars will face off against the Saraland Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay-Chalkville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Clay-Chalkville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Muscle Shoals with points to spare, taking the game 30-13.

It was another big night for Joshua Woods, who rushed for 100 yards, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one score. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clay-Chalkville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Clay-Chalkville's defense stepped up as well, laying out Kade Clemmons four times. Javiyeen Taylor refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Clay-Chalkville got some further help from Taylor: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.
Meanwhile, Saraland faced Benjamin Russell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Spartans took down the Wildcats 38-21.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Roberts and Kingston Preyear. Roberts had a great game and threw for 300 yards and a pair of TDs. Meanwhile, Preyear was balling out in the loss, throwing for 241 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 51 yards.
Clay-Chalkville's record now sits at 14-0. As for Saraland, their record is now 13-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Clay-Chalkville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 230 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Saraland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 160.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Clay-Chalkville came out on top in a nail-biter against Saraland when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 31-28. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
