Volleyball Recap: Glendale Has No Trouble Against Curwensville

Glendale had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Curwensville on Tuesday. The Vikings blew past the Golden Tide 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Golden Tide: they've now won seven in a row.

Glendale's got stronger as the match went on, holding Curwensville to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-14.

Rachel McClellan was her usual excellent self, getting 17 kills, six digs, and three aces. She has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last seven times she's played. Ava Rutter was another key player, getting six digs and five aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Glendale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Glendale now has a winning record of 14-13-1. As for Curwensville, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Glendale will take on Purchase Line at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Curwensville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
