Basketball Recap: Coconino's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Coconino had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-1 to make it six. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer Valley Skyhawks. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

As for Deer Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Coconino: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deer Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cecilia Romero, who shot 41% from the field en route to 20 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Romero is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Maisy Trice-Byrd, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Looking ahead, Coconino will be playing at home against Page at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deer Valley, they will face off against Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Skyhawks will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
