Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Providence Classical Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans 61-31. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 23-point advantage.

Providence Classical Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fabian Priestley, who posted 15 points. The game was Priestley's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Walker Atkins was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Looking ahead, Providence Classical Christian will challenge Milledgeville Athletic Club at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Genesis Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 20th.
