Basketball Recap: Islands Comes Up Short

After soaring to 72 points the game before, Islands was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They were dealt a 77-23 loss at the hands of the Calvary Day Cavaliers. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Islands still got an impressive performance from Deondrae Hills, who posted ten points. That was a full 43.5% of Islands' points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Islands smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Islands' loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Calvary Day, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Islands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calvary Day, they will square off against Jenkins at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Day knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Jenkins likes a good challenge.
