Basketball Recap: Alexander Victorious

There's no place like home for Alexander, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They slipped by the River Valley Raiders 55-54 on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-53 back in January.

Braden Bennett and Tyler Wooten certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Bennett went 10-for-16 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Wooten went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points and five boards. What's more, Bennett also posted a 63% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Alexander's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander will take on Chesapeake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Valley, they will face off against Piketon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
