Newport entered their tilt with Reardan on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came out on top against the Screaming Eagles by a score of 7-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-5 victory on Friday.

Hank Kirkwood made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Newport let Ryder Riddles and Kutter Driver run wild. Riddles went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Driver got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Driver is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Nate Shaw also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Newport pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Reardan, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
