Basketball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

Northeastern was the 46-32 winner over First Flight when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Northeastern Eagles fell 49-40 to the First Flight Nighthawks on Tuesday.

Leading First Flight to victory were Maddy Beatson and Sara Basnight. Beatson posted 17 points and seven steals, while Basnight dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Basnight a new career-high in assists (four). Summer Stevens was another key player, putting up two points and nine rebounds.

Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for First Flight, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.

Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for First Flight, they will face off against Currituck County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Currituck County will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something First Flight surely won't give up without a fight.
