Soccer Game Preview: Smith County vs. Lakeway Christian Academy

The Smith County Owls will challenge the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions at 3:10 p.m. on Friday. Smith County is looking for their season's first win.

Smith County managed to keep up with Portland until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Smith County came up short against Portland, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Smith County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Portland are ranked 44th).

Smith County's goal came courtesy of Adyn Elliott, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakeway Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Union County on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Lakeway Christian Academy, who have now won three matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Lakeway Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Smith County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
