Baseball Recap: Golden Gate Comes Up Short

Golden Gate lost against First Baptist Academy last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Titans lost 12-2 to the Lions. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Jonh Mairena was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Golden Gate's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for First Baptist Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-7.

Golden Gate has already played their next game, a 12-2 win against East Lee County on the 14th. As for First Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-8 defeat against IMG Academy Blue on the 10th.
