Baseball Recap: Hendersonville Takes a Loss

Hendersonville started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Shelby. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Lions on Monday. The Bearcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Wesley Mayo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Martiste Mills was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Hendersonville's record is now 6-14. As for Shelby, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-15 record.

Coming up, Hendersonville will face off against Patton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
