The Monterey Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 60-22 loss at the hands of Smith County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Monterey has scored all season.

Monterey's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Roberson-Barber, who scored five points along with six rebounds.

Monterey has fallen quite a ways from their 23-11 record last season and are now at 2-16. As for Smith County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monterey will take on Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smith County, they will be playing at home against Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watertown has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
