Volleyball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview lost against Elkhorn Valley back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Falcons. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Riley Miller paced Plainview's offense, picking up seven kills. Miller got some help from Mallory Mauer and her 12 assists. Mauer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Elkhorn Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Plainview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hartington-Newcastle on the 23rd. As for Elkhorn Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Lutheran-Northeast on the 27th.
