Football Game Preview: Highlands Bluebirds vs. Corbin Redhounds

The Highlands Bluebirds will take on the Corbin Redhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Highlands is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to Blazer for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-7 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bluebirds sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Rio Litmer had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 130 yards and one TD on only 12 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

Highlands didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Tincher and Tayden Lorenzen.

Meanwhile, Corbin was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Lincoln County 47-14. The victory continues a trend for the Redhounds in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Corbin's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
