Odyssey Institute and River Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. Odyssey Institute will take on River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Odyssey Institute is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Odyssey Institute will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Chino Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Odyssey Institute walked away with a 7-4 win over Chino Valley on Monday.

Jonathan Gonzales was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Daughtery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, River Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 4-0 to Yuma Catholic. The game marked the first time this season in which the Dust Devils were not able to get on the board.

The victory got Odyssey Institute back to even at 4-4-1. As for River Valley, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3-2.

Odyssey Institute came up short against River Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can Odyssey Institute avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
