Hale Ray came tearing into Monday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Noises, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hale Ray had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-14.

Reagan Bean paced Hale Ray's offense, picking up 22 kills. Bean got some help from Olivia Thiele and her 25 assists. Thiele was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Hale Ray's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hale Ray will face off against rival Valley Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth is set to square off against their familiar foe East Hampton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
