            Baseball Recap: Gueydan Bears vs. V.B. Glencoe Charter Gators        
        
		
        
        
            Gueydan's game  last Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. Everything went their way against the V.B. Glencoe Charter Gators as the Gueydan Bears made off with  an  18-1 win. Considering the Bears' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Joshua Mayer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits any time he's  pitched this season. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ty Falgout, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple.  Koen Breaux was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Gueydan  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .654. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory  got Gueydan back to even at 2-2. As for V.B. Glencoe Charter,  they are  on  a  16-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gueydan will take on Comeaux at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for V.B. Glencoe Charter, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Franklin  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
