Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clay County). They blew past the Jellico Blue Devils 87-53 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

When it comes to explaining why Jellico lost, don't look at Savannah Lay. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-12 on her way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Lay a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendall Osborn, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

The win got Clay County back to even at 9-9. As for Jellico, their loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-23.

Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jellico, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harriman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
