Baseball Recap: Brea Olinda Comes Up Short

Brea Olinda lost against Troy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brea Olinda got a good showing from Dominic Gomez, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Gomez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Brea Olinda saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Kudron, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Isaac Melendez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Brea Olinda's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Troy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.

While Brea Olinda had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
