Baseball Recap: Rio Vista Takes a Loss

Rio Vista fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mesa Verde on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by just one run.

RJ Lea was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmett Medders, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Rio Vista dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mesa Verde, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rio Vista beat the Mavericks by a score of 5-2 on Thursday.
