Football Recap: Orcutt Academy Spartans vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles        
        
		
             With a playoff game on the line, Orcutt Academy rose to the challenge  on Friday. They took down the Lone Pine Golden Eagles 34-20.
  Joaquin Perez was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up  a  sack, forcing a fumble,  and making seven total tackles.  Isaac Noble made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 Orcutt Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Noble and  Ryan Dollahite.
 Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Zack Patterson, who rushed for 18 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Patterson was even better on defense, picking up  two  sacks and making ten total tackles.
 Orcutt Academy's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 38.8 points per game. As for Lone Pine, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 7-4.
 Orcutt Academy will head out on the road to  square off against  Mammoth  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Orcutt Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  game than the last. Lone Pine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
