Erie takes loss despite strong efforts from Jacksen Powell and Alexandra Pasquarelli

Recap: Erie Red Devils vs. Pleasanton Blu-Jays

The Erie Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 38-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasanton. Erie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pleasanton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Erie had strong showings from Alexandra Pasquarelli, who scored 11 points along with two steals, and Jacksen Powell, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Pasquarelli grabbed two or more steals. Kinzie Cleaver was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Erie's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pleasanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Erie will be playing at home against Fredonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredonia has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Pleasanton, they will head out on the road to challenge Marmaton Valley on Tuesday. Marmaton Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pleasanton in Kansas (Marmaton Valley is ranked 113th, while Pleasanton is ranked 263rd).
