Baseball Recap: Riverdale Has No Trouble Against Darlington

While Riverdale put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Darlington. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Redbirds. The Chieftains not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 17-0).

Chase Chitwood made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Chitwood was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Ethan Kagel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Conlan Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Riverdale's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Darlington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Riverdale has already played their next matchup (against Kickapoo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Darlington, they will venture away from home to face off against Pecatonica at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
