Softball Recap: Rushville Lions vs. Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Castle, Rushville was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024.

Stacey Roberts and Makenna Ripberger did most of the damage at the plate: Roberts went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run, while Ripberger went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Ripberger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Glandon, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Rushville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge City Lincoln only posted a batting average of .231.
The victory got Rushville back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rushville will head out to take on Lawrenceburg at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will venture away from home to challenge Monroe Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses dating back to last season for the Golden Eagles and three for the Golden Bears.
