Softball Game Preview: Tully Black Knights vs. Cato-Meridian Blue Devils

The Tully Black Knights will take on the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tully barely beat Pulaski the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Black Knights were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Blue Devils on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Black Knights considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Cato-Meridian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against Pulaski as they made off with a 14-2 win.

Cato-Meridian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tully, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Tully suffered a grim 21-4 defeat to Cato-Meridian when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
