Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. Washington Huskies

The Kennedy Titans waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with an 80-73 win over Washington. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Will Dorsey was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Adrian Velazquez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eshaan Brar, who scored 22 points. Brar is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dru Anaya, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

Washington struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kennedy pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 11-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Washington, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Kennedy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Kennedy is facing Newark Memorial at the right time seeing as Newark Memorial is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Washington, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
