Soccer Game Preview: Tohopekaliga vs. Freedom

Tohopekaliga hasn't had much luck against Freedom recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tohopekaliga Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Freedom Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Freedom took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tohopekaliga, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tohopekaliga took on Gateway on Thursday. Tohopekaliga had just enough and edged Gateway out 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Panthers are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Freedom's offense. They fell just short of Lake Nona by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Considering the last time the Patriots couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Tohopekaliga's victory bumped their record up to 5-8-1. As for Freedom, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5-1.

Tohopekaliga came up short against Freedom in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Tohopekaliga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
