Football Recap: Galt Warriors vs. El Dorado Cougars
Galt had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it eight. They took a blow against the El Dorado Cougars, falling 41-0. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 42-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Even if they lost, Galt's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Devin Williams was the leader with two.
As for El Dorado, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
El Dorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Villa out in front who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Villa has posted since back in October of 2024. Another signal caller making a difference was Hunter Rupley, who threw for 126 yards and three TDs on only ten passes.
Coming up, Galt will host Amador at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for El Dorado, they will venture away from home to challenge Liberty Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
