Maranatha had to endure  a  nine-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Whittier Christian Heralds by a score of  3-1  on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Minutemen: when they faced off against the Heralds  back in September, they had to take a  3-2  loss.
 Maranatha had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-15, 25-23,  25-18.
Maranatha's  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Whittier Christian, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-23 record  this season.

Meanwhile,  Whittier Christian (ranked 782nd) will meet Village Christian (ranked 157th)  at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
