Basketball Recap: Dodge County Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a good run, but Dodge County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 59-50 to the Dublin Fighting Irish. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Dublin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aj Johnson led the charge by going 6 for 11 on his way to 19 points and five boards. Matravious Linder was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Dodge County's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Dublin, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dodge County will take on East Laurens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Laurens knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Dodge County likes a good challenge. As for Dublin, they will square off against Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dublin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season.
