Basketball Game Preview: Toledo Boomers vs. Waldport Irish

Toledo is 9-1 against Waldport since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Toledo Boomers will venture away from home to take on the Waldport Irish at 7:30 p.m. Waldport took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Toledo, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Toledo didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Monroe, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. The Boomers haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Waldport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt an 85-35 defeat at the hands of East Linn Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Eagles are ranked 67th).

Waldport's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Toledo, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Toledo strolled past Waldport in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 54-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toledo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
