Basketball Recap: Grainger Grizzlies vs. Claiborne Bulldogs
The Grainger Grizzlies's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-25 win over Claiborne at home. With Grainger ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Grainger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maribeth Stratton, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Stratton scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Brickey, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Grainger's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Claiborne, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Grainger and the Greene Devils will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Greeneville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. As for Claiborne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
