Baseball Recap: Leon Takes a Loss

If Leon was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Bay last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Wakulla War Eagles by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the War Eagles earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

Leon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baker Safley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Leon's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9. As for Wakulla, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Leon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-0 loss against Lincoln on the 15th. As for Wakulla, they have also already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Rickards on the 15th.
