Volleyball Game Preview: Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience Owls vs. Jefferson Blue Jays

The Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience Owls will take on the Jefferson Blue Jays at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience duked it out with Valley Park on Tuesday. The Owls were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Meanwhile, Jefferson made easy work of Grandview on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Jefferson was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-14, 25-8.

Jefferson's win came from a few key players Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Louise Duepner, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Jefferson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matches.

Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience's victory bumped their record up to 27-3-1. As for Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 17-11-4.
