League recap: Baker dominating on the mound for Alvord

2A Region II District 9 league recap: 3/27/13

Casen Baker was the best pitcher in 2A Region II District 9 this week, leading Alvord. He picked up two wins and 13 strikeouts.

Lane Peace had the hottest bat in the league this week, racking up a .455 average, one home run and six RBIs. The Bulldogs compiled a record of 2-3 in that time.

Brock boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Alvord's Jordan Locklear destroyed 2A Region II District 9 pitching this week while leading the league in average, hits and runs batted in. Locklear feasted on opponents pitching with a .727 average and ten RBIs thanks to eight hits.

2A Region II District 9's Baker had a great week on the mound, as he led the league with two wins and 13 strikeouts.



Locklear was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in five runs during the Bulldogs' 10-3 win over Boyd. He went 4-for-4 and scored three runs.

Alvord's Baker struck out 13 the Yellowjackets hitters en route to a 10-3 victory on March 19. Over six innings of work, he gave up four hits and one run.
