Softball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

Walnut blew Pine Grove out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Pine Grove got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Panthers since March 11, 2023.

Walnut saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Another was Allie Jackson, who earned two RBI and two runs.

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pine Grove, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Walnut will look to defend their home field on Monday against Baldwyn at 5:30 p.m. Pine Grove will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' matchup: after the Wildcats face off against the Bearcats, they'll take on Pine Grove again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
