Baseball Recap: Crowley County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Crowley County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Ellicott Thunderhawks on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Derreck Buford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Buford was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Crowley County is 3-1 when Buford posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Anthoni Walter and Tritt Buhr did most of the damage at the plate: Walter scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Buhr scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Walter has become a key player for Crowley County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

Crowley County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Ellicott, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6-1.

Crowley County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Hoehne on the 12th. As for Ellicott, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Woodland Park on the 10th.
