Baseball Recap: Bessemer City Takes a Loss

Bessemer City had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it five. They lost 9-1 to the Stuart W. Cramer Storm. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 19-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

As for Stuart W. Cramer, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Stuart W. Cramer's part, Hunter Dye was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, Dye is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Detweiler, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Bessemer City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will take on East Gaston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
