Baseball Recap: Gaffney Comes Up Short

Gaffney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-6 to the James F. Byrnes Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 back in March.

Brody Bright was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Brady Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Gaffney's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for James F. Byrnes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Coming up, Gaffney will head out to square off against Dorman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for James F. Byrnes, they will welcome Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
