Tolland hasn't had much luck against Coventry recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Patriots at 3:15 p.m. Tolland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Tolland will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Windsor, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Eagles walked away with a 5-2 win over the Warriors on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Tolland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Coventry earned a 6-3 victory over Windsor Locks on Saturday.

Dustin Menzel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another was Dominic Deangelis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coventry pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tolland, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tolland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Coventry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
