Baseball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to the Grants Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 back in March.

Valencia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rudy Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Valencia's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Grants, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Valencia has already played their next matchup, a 13-3 victory against Highland on the 18th. As for Grants, they will face off against St. Pius X at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
